2. Sheldrick Redwine, Safety

Sheldrick Redwine, a John Dorsey selection in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, isn’t going to have an easy path to make the Browns roster this season.

This offseason, the Browns went out and signed star safety John Johnson on a three-year deal and drafted Georgia Bulldogs product Richard LeCounte in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. With Ronnie Harrison in the mix and Grant Delpit coming back off of an Achilles tear, the depth at safety is really deep which does not bode well for Redwine.

In two seasons with the Browns, Redwine has a combined 69 tackles, one QB hit, and one interception in 27 total games. In the past, Redwine hasn’t necessarily had his way with the injury bug. Last season, he dealt with a knee injury and he is currently dealing with an ankle injury.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Redwine will not need surgery on his ankle, however, he has not practiced since he injured it on August 2nd which makes the road that much tougher for him to make the team.

Last season, the Browns kept four safety’s on the 53-man roster. With Harrison, Johnson, and Delpit locks to make the cut, it appears that it’s between Redwine, the rookie LeCounte, Jovante Moffatt, and a few other guys for the final spot which are not great odds for Redwine.
