Five Jacksonville Jaguars trade targets for the Cleveland Browns

The Jacksonville Jaguars are rebuilding around Trevor Lawrence, and apparently, the team is taking that to the extreme.

They are reportedly making second-year cornerback C.J. Henderson available for trade, and just sent linebacker Joe Schobert to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If a player wasn’t brought in by the current Jacksonville regime, his spot may not be safe, and if that is the case, the Cleveland Browns should take advantage, just like they did with safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. a year ago.

Here are five Jaguars Andrew Berry should inquire about.

5. CB Sidney Jones

Ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft, Jones was considered to be one of the top cornerbacks in the class. Then, he suffered a torn achilles while training, which sent him falling to the second round, where the Philadelphia Eagles grabbed him. Injuries limited him over three seasons with the team, and his performance was disappointing, but understandable for someone who had dealt with an injury that serious.

The Eagles had seen enough from Jones, and he didn’t make their final roster in 2020. He was signed by the Jaguars, and while he appeared in only seven games, he played pretty well. His Pro Football Focus coverage grade of 71.3 was the highest of his career.

He would carry just a $1 million base salary for his new team, and could provide quality depth at CB. That’s something the Browns don’t have enough of, but they do have enough injury-prone DBs.
