2. The rookies

The Browns offense wasn’t blowing up the box score early in the game but new rookie wide receiver/running back Demetric Felton, drafted out of UCLA was outstanding with the offense. He lined up in the slot several times and snagged four catches for 44 yards, including a nice screen catch and run on a throw from Browns third-string quarterback Kyle Lauletta late in the 1st half.

Felton has an opportunity to play not only receiver but also be involved in the run game and special teams on kick and punt returns.

Greg Newsome, the rookie cornerback who has a shot at starting at corner opposite Browns veteran cornerback Denzel Ward, looked okay Saturday night. He did get burned for 35 yards early on a nice throw from Jags quarterback Lawrence. But recovered the rest of the way with a few balls that went his direction that he defended better.

The talk of the night though belongs to Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, the newly drafted kid out of Notre Dame. A bit undersized, Koramoah made up for it all night with his speed and instincts. He began his night with a bang as he sacked the Jags quarterback.

Koramoah seemed like he was everywhere on the field. On a Jags punt, Koramoah almost got a blocked punt as well. Koramoah finished with 8 tackles and 1 sack. Very impressive!
