KhaDarel Hodge

Coming into this season, fans knew the math just didn’t add up in the receiver room. There are seven or eight guys who deserve to be on NFL rosters, and likely only six open spots for the Cleveland Browns to fill in 2021.

Unfortunately, a guy who did nothing for his stock on making the roster was KhaDarel Hodge. He only got one target, which could nearly be considered a dropped touchdown. It would have been an extremely difficult catch, but one that a lot of NFL receivers would have made.

This is one where it isn’t as much about what Hodge has done wrong, but more about what the other guys have done right.

Donovan Peoples-Jones has been the talk of camp, and fans quickly saw why on Saturday night. Peoples-Jones had 3 catches in a limited number of snaps, and you could tell that Case Keenum was looking for him on nearly every play.

Rashard Higgins also looked like Rashard Higgins. He only had one catch, but it was on a third-down that kept the drive alive. A play where he just found the open zone and made a difficult catch that was slightly low.

After just 1 game, JOK proves he deserves time with starters. dark. Next

At this point, I find it hard to find a scenario where I see Hodge making this roster. He’s a big target that will easily find a spot on another roster, but I don’t think it will be in Cleveland.
