7. TE Jace Sternberger

The 75th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft put together an excellent junior season at Texas A&M, catching 48 passes for 832 yards and 10 touchdowns. An injury limited him to just six games as a rookie, and he didn’t catch any passes. In 2020, he had only 12 grabs for 114 yards and a score, and was passed up by Robert Tonyan on the depth chart.

He’s suspended for the first two games due to a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy, and may not end up making the Packers final roster. But the talent that made Sternberger a third-round pick is still there, and perhaps a change of scenery could unlock it.

With the season-ending injury to Stephen Carlson, the Browns have a need at TE4 if they still wish to keep that many, If Sternberger is cheap, he could absolutely be worth a kick of the tires to see if he could be a potential replacement for either Austin Hooper or David Njoku beginning in 2022.

6. DB Joejuan Williams

The 45th overall pick in 2019 has logged only 257 career defensive snaps with the New England Patriots and hasn’t impressed much in his limited action. Still, he has not yet turned 24 years old and is 6-4 height and 32.5-inch arms give him a rare physical skillset, one that could perhaps be better utilized at safety than at cornerback.

Williams is fighting for a roster spot, and the Patriots under Bill Belichick have practically never cared about a player’s draft status when deciding on position battles. Williams is a young, talented player at a high-value position who also contributes on special teams. That sounds exactly like the kind of player the Browns would target.
