Cleveland Browns: 5 Players who increased their stock in Preseason Week 2 Victory

4. OL Blake Hance
Blake Hance filled in well at guard for Michael Dunn in the playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, and played emergency tackle in the next round against the Kansas City Chiefs as well. However, with the amount of talent the Browns have on the offensive line, it was going to be difficult for Hance to make the final roster.
A good sign for him though is that he’s started both preseason games, playing right guard against the Jags and moving inside to center against the Giants as Nick Harris missed the game due to injury. Harris’s roster spot is not safe, and now both Hance and Dunn have snapped the ball in addition to their usual guard spots.
That versatility will help Hance out quite a bit, whether it’s with the Browns or a different team. Having a depth lineman who can play all five spots is extremely valuable, all the more so when most of that experience came at a moment’s notice in the playoffs.
Those injuries on the line are beginning to mount, so while Hance is still likely behind in the pecking order, he still has a decent shot to make the team, and it’s a near certainty he’d be claimed off waivers, making a practice squad spot unrealistic.
