Cleveland Browns are overflowing with runners
Having Browns running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt in the mix and knowing that they are already established stars is so great for this team. The Browns franchise has always cherished their running backs over the years.
While Chubb and Hunt are waiting in the wings for the start of the season, the Browns have been able to showcase several other backs that have all done a good job while on the field. D’Ernest Johnson, who will likely continue to be the backup running back like in the past had impressive runs of 14 and 18 yards and helped the team move down the field early in the game yesterday.
The rookie Demetric Felton continued to impress in his various roles on the team, which included 8 carries for 25 yards. He also brought back several punts and got a nice catch for 12 yards.
The third back, John Kelly, who’s in his third NFL season and first with the Browns continued to impress as he rumbled for 58 yards on nine carries and scrambled in for a touchdown late in the game. The young player, who initially played for the LA Rams in 2018 and 2019 has certainly showcased his talents, if not for the Browns, for sure another NFL team in search of a running back prior to the season starting.
He may not make the final 53 man roster but another team will be getting a very good player.
