No. 3 – Mario Addison, Defensive End

The Buffalo Bills came into 2021 with a goal of getting younger a defensive line and boy did they do that by drafting to edge rushers in the draft. Both Gregory Rousseau and Carlos Basham Jr. are expected to be contributors this season, which could mean a veteran being released.

Mario Addison appears to be the odd man out now, as his release would free up over $3 million in cap space. There will likely be a decision to make on if Addison or Jerry Hughes make the final roster, but with Hughes being a captain last season, Addison seems the more likely candidate.

The Cleveland Browns may end up not needing help at the position with Takk McKinley finally returning to camp.  The first two preseason games were tough to watch with Porter Gustin and Curtis Weaver getting most of the snaps. There was very little to no pass rush for most of the game.

If McKinley is back and there are no concerns on his off-field issues, this is a move that may not need to happen. However, if there are still concerns a veteran like Addison could be the perfect addition. He would likely only see 25-30 percent of the defensive snaps but could bring leadership and playoff experience to the unit.
