1. Kyle Lauletta, QB

Quarterback Kyle Lauletta joined the Cleveland Browns in 2020 by spending the last 12 weeks of the season on their practice squad. During that time, he not only helped run opposing teams’ plays to get the starting unit ready, but must have also absorbed the playbook of Kevin Stefanski, because he played exceptionally well in the 2021 preseason.

The former fourth-round draft pick played better than backup quarterback Case Keenum at times and was thought by some to be a better option than the older Keenum. While he did play really well at times, Lauletta’s inconsistency is ultimately what did him in and leaves him on the outside now, having been cut by the team on Monday afternoon.

He is a good practice squad option, however, as he can remain with the team and keep learning the playbook of this offensive staff. He could also prove to be a solid option for the team should anything happen and they need an emergency quarterback.

With so much talent littered around the rest of the roster, the team was never going to keep three quarterbacks on the active roster, but keeping Lauletta on the practice squad provides them with some insurance and a potential future backup for Baker Mayfield.
