2022 Browns Mock draft: Treylon Burks adds offensive firepower

Browns Mock Draft Round 6 pick: Demarcco Hellams, S, Alabama
When in doubt, pick an Alabama player.
That might sound a bit facetious, but the truth is, no school consistently produces more NFL talent than the Crimson Tide and that’s why the Browns go for someone from the program here in the sixth round. Their selection is safety Demarcco Hellams who comes in at 6-foot-1 and 208-pounds.
He’s versatile and can play closer to the line while also offering some support in zone coverage. And much like the issues Cleveland has at corner, they have also had durability concerns at safety — and Ronnie Harrison is also approaching the end of his deal.
That gives Hellams a great shot of making this team and contributing, which could also continue the streak of Andrew Berry finding players in the sixth round that can make an impact.
Browns Mock Draft Round 7 pick: Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina
The issues at defensive tackle were already discussed at length, and that led to the second pick in this Browns mock draft being used on a defender for the middle of their line. That might not be enough, especially if both Andrew Billings and Malik Jackson are gone in 2022.
With that being a possibility, the final pick in this mock goes back to that position as we select Zacch Pickens from South Carolina.
A big man at 6-foot-3 and 305-pounds, Pickens projects as a three-technique and has incredibly long arms and enough speed to really frustrate offensive linemen.
He could end up proving to be a much higher pick than this if he puts all his tools together but for now, he’s flying a bit under the radar which is why Cleveland lands him this late.
