The Cleveland Browns play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 of the 2021 NFL Season. Here’s a look at the betting info and a prediction for the game.
The Cleveland Browns open the 2021 season on the road with a matchup against the very team that ended their 2020 campaign, the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s a long-anticipated rematch between the two teams and Cleveland fans are surely wanting revenge for the defeat they saw their team handed back in January.
In that game, Kansas City lost quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the third quarter to a concussion and backup Chad Henne came in to replace him. At that time, the Chiefs were up 22-10 and Cleveland got within five but Henne ran 13 yards on third-and-14 to set up a fourth-and-1 conversion that sealed the game.
Since then, the Browns have been working hard to rebuild their defense — and they have done just that. This Sunday will be the first time we get to see this group together as Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, Malik Jackson, John Johnson, and Anthony Walker all go out there to try and slow down Mahomes and the high-powered Chiefs offense.
It won’t be easy, and the oddsmakers seem to agree that Cleveland has a tough road ahead of them.

Kansas City made some waves this offseason when Patrick Mahomes said the goal was to go 20-0. Sure, every team in the NFL wants to do this but no one says it — for fear of giving their opponents the dreaded bulletin-board material.
Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland offense will want to prove they’re better than last season when they couldn’t threaten the Chiefs deep and the defense is rebuilt and ready to show they’re not the same unit that struggled in 2020.
Add all that up and the Browns shock the world with a 27-26 victory to start the 2021 season on a high note and end the hopes of 20-0 before they even get off the ground.
