1. He’s done it before and he’ll do it again

Last season there were two games played in back-to-back weeks right after the Browns were coming off their bye and a recent home loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. There were questions about Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and would he be able to manage the upcoming games.

Also, Chubb had been recovering from the recent injury he suffered in the Dallas Cowboys game several weeks earlier. There were questions if Chubb would return by their Week 10 matchup with the Houston Texans. The game itself was a low-scoring affair.

Cleveland prevailed but it was the plays by Chubb that ultimately decided the game. He carried the ball 19 times for 126 yards in his first action in over six weeks. His most impressive play happened at the end when the Browns were clinging to the lead and Chubb was able to take a pitch to the left and scampered down the sideline for an apparent touchdown.

But at the last moment, he took the ball out of bounds at the one-yard line. In doing so, the Browns were able to take a knee and run out the clock, not giving the Texans a chance at any late-game heroics.

In the follow-up week when the Browns faced the Philadelphia Eagles Chubb again was the leader of the team and took 20 carries for 114 yards. He didn’t score but again late in the game, he took a defining pitch almost to the house. What was memorable on that run was the stiff-arm he laid out the Eagle opponent as he secured another win for the Browns in the closing moments of the game.
