Cleveland Browns bold prediction No. 3: Myles Garrett scores two strip-sacks

Before getting Covid last season, Myles Garrett was on an absolute tear. In his first 10 games, he had 9.5 sacks and forced four fumbles. He then missed two games and in his final four contests of the regular season, he had 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. That’s not exactly bad, by any means, but it wasn’t the player we saw throughout the first part of the season — which was a guy on the way to earning some serious consideration for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Garrett never made any excuses but did admit “Covid sucks” and we could all see him struggling at times to catch his breath. This season, he’s back to full strength and will be ready to prove that he’s the player we saw in the first 10 games of the season — which is an elite game-changer.

And if the Browns are going to stand any chance of knocking off Kansas City, that’s what they’re going to need from No. 95. Patrick Mahomes has been nearly unstoppable for years but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers proved in Super Bowl 55 that even he can look human when enough pressure is applied. Tampa’s front seven were in the backfield all night and Mahomes reportedly ran roughly 497 yards in the backfield before either being sacked or throwing the ball.

In this bold prediction, Myles Garrett does his best to force Mahomes into a similar situation. Not only will he live in the backfield on Sunday, but look for him to record two strip-sacks that help the Browns defense keep this game within reach.
