The Cleveland Browns will look to break these three streaks in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs

The Cleveland Browns and their fans know all about streaks. Whether it be the 0-16 season or the streak of different quarterbacks playing for the team without success, there are plenty of streaks that have gone against the team.

The tide may finally be turning in their favor, however, as they have a winning quarterback, reached the 2020 NFL Playoffs, and are a hot Super Bowl pick by many in the media.

In Week 1, the Cleveland Browns face off against the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that bounced them out of the playoffs in January. While the number of streaks they have going against them has certainly shrieked significantly in recent years, there are still some that need to be rectified.

Here are three streaks that the Browns will look to break in their Week 1 game against the Chiefs.

Cleveland Browns Streak No. 1: Four-straight losses against the Kansas City Chiefs

While the Browns and Chiefs don’t play each other too often, and rarely ever in back-to-back seasons like they do this season and last, they still play each other enough to have a bit of history.

In 27 all-time meetings between the two franchises, the Chiefs hold the slight edge in the record, winning 14 of them. The last four meetings between the two have not gone the way of the Browns.

Cleveland’s last win over the Kansas City Chiefs was in 2012, long before head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes were with the organization. With those two on the opposing side, the chances of breaking this streak have gotten harder.

The Browns are also an improved team, however. Coming off a successful 2020 season and playoff appearance, and with the return of the bulk of their talent, this will be a great Week 1 matchup and could help kickstart a great, new AFC rivalry between these two teams for many years to come.
