3. Brandin Cooks, WR

As aforementioned, Brandin Cooks had himself a game against the Jaguars in Week 1. He caught five of his seven targets from Taylor for a game-high 132 yards.

After the game, Taylor said he and Cooks were “Just on the same page.”

That they were.

The eight-year veteran has compiled 488 receptions, 7,012 yards, and 40 touchdowns in his career. He has surpassed 1,000 yards in five of his first seven seasons and is well on his way to doing it again in 2021.

The Browns secondary is much-improved from a season ago, but just allowed Tyreek Hill to catch 11 passes for 197 yards, and a score. Cooks doesn’t possess the speed Hill does, but he does have play-making abilities that the Browns must contain and limit.

Cooks is one of those receivers in the NFL that does not get enough credit. He isn’t in the upper echelon of elite wideouts, but he is in the second-tier. If Cooks and Taylor can maintain this chemistry, it will spell problems for opposing defenses.

The likes of Denzel Ward, Troy Hill, and Greg Newsome must apply the pressure to Cooks or he could end up cooking them. The more they cover Cooks and the other receivers, the more time the duo of Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney will have to get to Taylor.
