Jarvis Landry went down with a knee injury in Week 2 and the Cleveland Browns could be looking to make a move for needed depth at the position

Jarvis Landry has never missed a game in his career due to injury but that could change this coming week. The Cleveland Browns fear he sprained his MCL during their win over Houston in Week 2 and an MRI on Monday will confirm or deny that theory.

Even if they get good news on the MRI, there’s no denying that he will likely miss time which makes a suddenly thin wide receiver position look like more of a need.

Sure, they have Rashard Higgins who has been reliable but Anthony Schwartz has shown that he’s prone to rookie mistakes and Donovan Peoples-Jones has not made good on a solid preseason yet.

For that reason, the Browns could look to add more help, which is what we look into here, starting with someone in-house.

3. Cleveland Browns can stay in-house to replace Jarvis Landry

Davion Davis is another player who really stood out in the preseason and some fans worried about whether or not he was going to survive the cut to 53. But then, the NFL suspended him for an incident back in 2019 meaning he couldn’t play for the first two weeks.

This also meant Davis wouldn’t count as a roster spot either, giving them time to decide what to do. That could end up helping Cleveland tremendously as Davis might be the answer to filling in for Landry.

Not only does he already know the team and system but they don’t have to make any moves to land him — other than clearing a spot for him. The question is whether or not Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski trust him enough for an expanded role. If they do great. If not, we can look at two more options.
