Davion Davis is BAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKK!

So who are we to dispute his claim?

Davion Davis cleared waivers after coming off the suspended list, the result of delayed actions over a Minnesota DUI conviction in 2019, and the Cleveland Browns added him to the practice squad.

From our top secret insider sources (namely Davion Davis himself) Dawg Pound Daily has learned that the Cleveland Browns have added Davis to the practice squad.

Other Browns sites are shielding the identity of their “secret source” of this privileged information. Somebody might know his agent, but we are going with Davion Davis himself.

After making sensational highlight reel catches in preseason games, it looked like there would be no way that Davis would ever clear waivers.

However, he put up enough negative tape that he actually cleared waivers. The main complaint that this amateur scout has, in addition to the obvious one of lack of top gear speed, is he drew so much attention for one-hand catches à la Odell Beckham, Jr., that he really started to use one hand in situations when it may not have been necessary, and didn’t make the catch.

In other words, we love the spectacular catches, but what we really want to see are the routine catches made routinely.

Make no mistake, Davis can play in the NFL. Just to complete your scouting report, here is a comparison between Davis and Rashard Higgins.

In this amateur’s opinion, lack of Olympic sprinter speed can be overlooked if a wide receiver can run a good pattern, get open and most importantly, catch the ball. Oh, and let us not forget to mention that it helps if he can block like a ton of bricks and tackle on special teams. Rashard Higgins is a case in point.
