Cleveland Browns who need to shine No. 1: Demetric Felton, Running Back/Slot Receiver

Cleveland got some bad news following their win in Week 2 when it was announced Jarvis Landry suffered a sprained MCL. He ended up on the IR which means he’s going to be out for at least three weeks.

There is some good news since it appears Odell Beckham, Jr. could still end up playing but that won’t be enough to replace Landry. Sure, OBJ is a great deep threat but where Landry really made his mark was by catching passes out of the slot.

Without Landry, they’re going to need someone else to occupy this role and they may end up turning to rookie Demetric Felton. Listed as a running back on the team’s depth chart, Felton spent plenty of time as a receiver for the UCLA Bruins and the Browns did use him in this role last week as well.

Felton was targeted twice and ended up with 51 yards and a touchdown — which was scored on an impressive 33-yard screen pass where he dodged several defenders on his way to the end zone for the first time in his career.

Even with that play under his belt, Felton doesn’t get as much attention as the other Cleveland running backs or receivers. However, he could still be a huge part of the game plan on Sunday as they look to improve to 2-1.
