Cleveland Browns Matchup No. 2: Greedy Williams vs Justin Jefferson

This next matchup has taken place many times before, it just happened on practice fields in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Former college teammates Greedy Williams and Justin Jefferson will square off, this time in the NFL.

Jefferson took the league by storm last season catching 88 passes for 1,400 yards and scoring seven touchdowns as a rookie. In the process, Jefferson was named second-team All-Pro as well as earning a Pro Bowl nomination. Jefferson has picked up where he left off last season, by snagging 20 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns through three games.

Greedy Williams’ path since entering the NFL has been turbulent. Williams was a second-round pick in 2019 and received a hefty amount of playing time as a rookie. He was tested often, being opposite of Denzel Ward will do that to you but played through his ups and downs and made a decent account of himself.

However, Williams did not step on a football field in 2020, as he battled nerve issues in his shoulder. When he made his return this season, his old starting spot was no longer waiting on him as the Browns drafted Greg Newsome to fill that role. Now with Newsome sidelined with a calf injury, Williams is once again the starter and will draw a stiff test in his former collegiate teammate.

If Williams can hold up against Jefferson, and not give up any explosive plays, the Browns will have a much better shot at leaving Minneapolis with a win.
