The Cleveland Browns play against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5 of the 2021 NFL Season. Here’s a look at the betting info and a prediction for the game.

The Cleveland Browns escaped Minnesota with a 14-7 win over the Vikings. Head coach Kevin Stefanski got a win over his old team but it was anything but comfortable.

Minnesota scored quickly as they had a touchdown on their opening drive but were held scoreless after that. Despite going roughly 53 minutes without a point, the Vikings were never out of it as Cleveland’s offense was less than sharp on the day.

Baker Mayfield was off-target but the good news is, he’s shown in their other games this season that he can be. That hopefully means this one was the anomaly. And if they’re going to score a win on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5, they will need him to play more like the guy we saw in Weeks 1 through 3.

Browns vs. Chargers Odds Week 5 (Updated)

The Week 5 betting odds on WynnBET had the Browns favored by one point over the Chargers — but that was before they beat the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. As of Saturday, that changed and L.A. is now favored by 2.5.

The moneyline sits at +115 for Cleveland and -135 for L.A. with an over/under of 47.0.

Browns vs. Chargers Prediction Week 5

It’s nice to see Cleveland win despite the offense struggling the way they did against Minnesota. This is due to the way the defense has come on as they have surrendered just 13 points in the last two games.

They’re going to need that defense again on Sunday against the Chargers because this is a team that can put up points in a hurry thanks to Justin Herbert.

While Mayfield’s struggles were tough to see in Week 4, they could actually help in Week 5. He’s always been a guy who excels when the doubt creeps in and the doubt will creep in after that game. Look for him to have a huge performance while the defense continues to play well. Cleveland makes a statement with a 27-10 win on the road.
