Cleveland Browns player who needs to step up No. 2: Odell Beckham

After a strong return in Week 3 vs. the Chicago Bears, it was another tough outing for Odell Beckham vs. the Minnesota Vikings. However, Baker Mayfield missed two opportunities that would have been touchdowns with better-thrown balls.

Even at 3-1, I don’t think there are many Browns fans that won’t admit it just doesn’t look right between Mayfield and Beckham. It doesn’t mean it won’t get there, it’s just not there yet. I don’t care how many practice snaps these guys get, it takes live game reps to get in sync, and they still haven’t had a ton of time together.

Look for Kevin Stefanski to get creative in week five to get Beckham involved early. Maybe this is an end-around, a double pass, or just a simple play where the Browns can get him wide open for a simple completion.

Through two games, I have to say the bigger issue right now is Mayfield more than Beckham, but the two must fight through this to get on the same page. In all honesty, the pressure from the media does the team no favors as everyone is more focused on Beckham’s stats than the Browns record.

What would be a great October for Beckham? I say 75 yards per game, two touchdowns, and a 70 percent completion percentage would be exactly what the doctor ordered. Let’s see if he can show up when the Browns need him the most.
