Odell Beckham one of 4 Cleveland Browns whose stock plummeted after Week 5 loss

Cleveland Browns with falling stock No. 2: The Secondary
Even though the Browns secondary gave up 398-yard passing, I’m not ready to say they are the complete reason the Browns lost the game on Sunday. The refs certainly did us no favors, there were multiple pass interference and holding calls on the secondary, which included multiple questionable calls.
However, the two blown coverages for a 72-yard and 42-yard touchdown are inexcusable. It appears that Grant Delpit was responsible for the 72-yarder and Ronnie Harrison for the 42-yarder, but both looked like a high school busted coverage. When is the last time you remember the Browns having a touchdown that was that easy?
Never, and the Chargers had two in one game.
It’s tough for the Browns right now at cornerback because everyone seems to be injured. Greg Newsome, Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams, and A.J. Green all missed snaps because of various injuries. That led to M.J. Steward and Troy Hill at the corner positions for a few snaps.
At this point, we aren’t sure how serious any of these injuries are, but Williams having another shoulder injury is a huge concern. Remember, he missed the entire season in 2020 because of a nerve issue in the shoulder.
With the high-flying offense of the Cardinals coming to town next week, let’s hope at least Newsome, Ward, and Green can play. Having Williams appears to be a long shot at this point. Let’s hope this entire group is out for redemption and shows up in a big way next weekend.
