Cleveland Browns with falling stock No. 1: Odell Beckham Jr. – Wide Receiver

Before the hate starts, I’m not saying it is Odell Beckham’s fault that his stock is plummeting, but the fact is, he had three targets, two catches, and 20 yards receiving on Sunday. I’m not saying that there weren’t times he wasn’t open, but he did not have near the production you would like to see from a guy making over $15 million a season.

Some of this doesn’t fall on Beckham, but the one drop yesterday certainly does. The Browns were deep in Charger territory when Stefanski decided to go for it on fourth and two. OBJ was wide open on a crossing route and watched the ball bounce off his hands.

At the time the Browns were trailing 13-10, so that extra score could have really helped the Browns out. Full disclosure, the Cleveland defense forced a three and out, and then the offense scored a touchdown the next drive, but still a major turning point in the game.

This OBJ lack of production continues to be a mystery for the Browns. At times last year, it felt like Baker Mayfield tried to force too many balls to Beckham which screwed up the rhythm. Now, it feels like he isn’t even looking for the former all-pro.

There were a couple of situations where Beckham was wide open, and Mayfield decided to go for a contested throw that was incomplete.

I have no idea what needs to be done to get Beckham and Mayfield in sync, but let’s hope that Jarvis Landry who is eligible to come off injured reserve this week can come back and help.
