Cleveland Browns: 3 trade targets to fine-tune offense before 2021 deadline
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns offense has been great in 2021 but they also have stalled out in clutch moments, these three trade targets could help fix that problem
It’s not as of we can harp on the Cleveland Browns offense too much after they scored 42 points in Week 5. Unfortunately, they lost since the Los Angeles Chargers dropped 47 on the Cleveland defense, which leaves a sour taste in every fan’s mouths.
Having said all that, there were times the offense left plays on the table, especially at the end of the game. Cleveland was unable to secure a first down when they were up 42-41 with just over three minutes to score and then when they were down by five, they killed the clock with an inability to push the ball downfield.
For those reasons, the Browns front office could look to add some players before the 2021 trade deadline to fine-tune their offense. Here we identify three players who could help.
Cleveland Browns trade target No. 3: Josh Reynolds, WR
2020 was a breakout season for Josh Reynolds with the Los Angeles Rams. He had a career-high in receptions (52) and yards (618) and then signed a deal with the Tennessee Titans. Originally, he was expected to help replace Corey Davis who went to the Jets, but he’s actually now third on the depth chart since Tennessee added Julio Jones in a trade with Atlanta.
While Reynolds did miss time with an injury this season, he has just seven receptions for 67 yards in three games played. That could mean he’s someone who could be had at the deadline.
For the Browns, they might be interested in another wideout to add to their committee. Reynolds isn’t a No. 1 guy but he’s more than capable of making catches in the intermediate part of the field and offers some impressive height at 6-foot-3, which is a need in Cleveland.
