The Cleveland Browns beef up their defensive line with the massive Jordan Davis in our latest seven-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft

At Week 6, the Cleveland Browns are sitting at 3-2 after a rough loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Sadly, it felt an awful lot like their first loss of the season to the Chiefs where they seemingly had the game in their hands, only to give it up in the fourth quarter.

Even with those defeats, they’re still in good shape as they’re tied with the Cinncinati Bengals for second place in the AFC North, but only one spot behind the Baltimore Ravens. On top of that, they have yet to play any divisional games, and those are the ones that matter most.

With all that said, this team should be focused on what’s going on right now. We, on the other hand, can look forward with anticipation. That’s exactly what we do here as we predict what the Browns are going to do next season in the draft as they continue to build their impressive roster.

Cleveland Browns Round 1 Pick: Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

There are going to be several people saying that you can’t get a one-technique in the first round. And while Jordan Davis looks like a one-tech at 6-foot-6 and 340-pounds — and will likely spend a lot of time there in Cleveland should Malik McDowell stick around beyond 2021 — he’s anything but.

A product of Thomson, Georgia, Davis excels as a three-technique who can be disruptive inside. However, unlike other defensive tackles who the Browns have asked to be versatile and move from one D-tackle spot to the other, Davis is a beast in the run game.

There will be those who say he can’t play on third down, but that’s not necessarily true. He’s still a guy who will occupy several blockers and while he might not be in on every passing down, he does add value in that department.
