Cleveland Browns Offensive Player of the Quarter – Nick Chubb

There were only two options for this award in my eyes and they were the two-headed monster of a backfield that is Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. While Hunt has been the most dynamic aspect of the offense, on both the rushing and receiving end, Chubb has been the more dominant. For that reason, the Offensive Player of the Quarter will go to Nicholas Jamaal Chubb.

So far in 2021, Chubb is responsible for just over 550 yards of offense. He has 523 yards and four touchdowns on 90 rushing attempts while also catching all five of his targets for 35 yards. Going into Week 6, Chubb is second in the league in rushing yards with 523, only 117 yards behind Derrick Henry despite having 52 fewer carries.

He’s the main reason why the Browns have the number one rushing offense in the NFL so far in 2021 and the reason their offense has been any sort of success as the team’s passing offense is one of the worst in the league.

Chubb has acted as a security blanket of sorts for Baker Mayfield and Kevin Stefanski’s offense. His production level is unmatched and has allowed this offense to be successful even on the worst outings.

His best game so far came in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers where he had 21 rushes for 161 yards and a touchdown. Chubb has a legitimate chance of leading the NFL in rushing when it’s all said and done and could end up winning the actual Offensive Player of the Year award come February.

For now though, he’s without a doubt the Offensive Player of the Quarter for the Cleveland Browns and has consistently shown it with his performances week in and week out.
