Cleveland Browns Bold Prediction No. 3: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah makes a house call

Several young players have stepped up for the Browns so far this season. One player, however, has jumped off of the tape, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The rookie linebacker out of Notre Dame has been able to transfer his collegiate intangibles directly to the professional ranks.

JOK, much like Arizona’s second-year linebacker Isaiah Simmons, was looked at like a player with no true position during his draft cycle. The Browns were convinced that Owusu-Koramoah had all the attributes that they wanted for a linebacker in Joe Woods’ defensive scheme. Now, JOK is repaying the Browns for their belief in his skills and ability, tenfold.

After seeing a limited role early in the season, JOK’s usage has increased weekly. Now Owusu-Koramoah is the unquestioned starter, getting 68 defensive snaps in week five. So far in the young season, Owusu-Koramoah leads the team in both total tackles (21) and solo tackles (15). When you add the fact that he has already successfully defended three passes and you begin to see the dynamic skillset that JOK brings with him on the field every Sunday.

This week, Owusu-Koramoah will attain another first in his NFL career, by recording his first fumble recovery for a touchdown. The do-it-all linebacker will scoop and score leaving a plethora of would-be tacklers in his wake on his way to the endzone. Spoiler alert: It will not be JOK’s only house call of the season. Stay tuned for more details.
