The Cleveland Browns took a huge hit with Nick Chubb being ruled out on Sunday. However, Kareem Hunt and Demetric Felton can carry the load.

The injury news was starting to get more and more positive throughout the week for the Cleveland Browns, but it took a huge dip Friday afternoon when it was announced that Nick Chubb would miss the game on Sunday because of a calf injury.

This is disappointing for a ton of reasons, but Chubb was really getting on a roll. He’s averaging just over 104 yards per game in 2021 and is coming off his best game where he had 21 carries for 161 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, the Browns lost the game, but Chubb was dominant.

This stings as well because the Cardinals are another team that has struggled to stop the run.  And with an offense that is so dangerous, the Cleveland Browns will lean heavily on the run this weekend to try and keep Kyler Murray on the sidelines.

Also, this news comes as a bit of a surprise because Chubb never left the game on Sunday or showed any signs of injury.  He had missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but at the time it just seemed like preventative.

There is no doubt this one stings, but luckily the Browns have a ton of depth at the position.  Kareem Hunt had rushed for 295 yards already this season and has been the featured back before in Kansas City. Hunt runs extremely hard but doesn’t seem to have quite the vision Nick Chubb does to find holes. Chubb is the patient runner, while Hunt hits the hole as fast as he can.

Next. Jarvis Landry back at practice. dark

Don’t expect the game plan to change for the Browns because of this. Kareem Hunt will get 20-plus carries, and you’ll see a lot more of Demetric Felton who has shined early on in 2021. Expect a bit more misdirection and a lot of screen passes with these two.
