Baker Mayfield heads to sideline after aggravating shoulder injury

Baker Mayfield turned the ball over for the third time on Sunday but this time, he landed on his injured shoulder and was in visible pain
It’s been a tough game, to say the least, for the Cleveland Browns. And they got even worse when Baker Mayfield went to the ground after being sacked by J.J. Watt of the Arizona Cardinals.
Not only did he lose the ball, which was his third turnover of the day, but while hitting the turf, his shoulder bent in an awkward direction and he was in visible pain. He then quickly headed to the blue tent for evaluation.
Before long, Mayfield was on the sidelines warming up as he seems dead-set on returning to the field. That’s not surprising since this isn’t the first time he has injured that shoulder.
Against Houston in Week 2, Mayfield suffered a shoulder injury and headed to the locker room where he reportedly popped his shoulder back into place. Later, it was revealed that he partially tore his shoulder labrum and has been playing with a brace on his shoulder ever since.
While Mayfield could end up playing through the pain, it’s also safe to ask how much longer he can tough it out. He continues to take hits thanks to the offensive line being without both starting tackles — and he’s also been up and down this season with his play.
Behind Mayfield is Case Keenum who is one of the better backups in the NFL. Still, it’s a decline in talent when going from a No. 1 overall pick to a journeyman reserve — no matter how trusted that reserve is.
Update: Mayfield is back on the field for Cleveland.
