Cleveland Browns Dud: Odell Beckham Jr.

Thursday was another rough outing for Odell Beckham, Jr. as he continues to try and find his stride with the Browns. In the first half alone, he dropped an easy reception that helped lead to a stalled drive, then he fell down on a route that could have brought them close to the sticks, and also dropped one that would have been a tough catch. Although, the OBJ of old would have hauled that one in as well.

Now to be fair to Beckham, he is playing through a painful injury as he reportedly suffered a grade 3 sprain in the AC joint of his shoulder. But that’s also been an issue for him for quite some time as he’s just been unable to stay healthy for several years.

Also to his credit, he played much better in the second half but still had just 23 yards on two receptions and didn’t have the kind of impact on the game that Cleveland fans have been longing to see since he was acquired in exchange for a first and third-round pick as well as Jabrill Peppers back in 2019.

Since his arrival, it feels as though we are waiting for Beckham to take off and click with this team. However, he has yet to do so and while it could still happen, it’s starting to feel like this is all we are going to get from him.
