Cleveland Browns 2022 mock draft: Day two picks stockpile defensive line depth
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns continue to stockpile talent through the draft in this 2022 seven-round mock
One thing that Andrew Berry has done a fantastic job of since becoming the general manager of the Cleveland Browns is find talent through the NFL Draft. Whether it’s a first-round blue chip such as Jedrick Wills or a late-round find like Demetric Felton, he continues to get players who fit this system and perform at a high level.
While he doesn’t need our help, that won’t stop us from looking ahead and trying to predict which players could be on the team’s radar.
Here we do just that as we look for talent at a few of the biggest positions of need for the Browns in our latest 2022 seven-round NFL mock draft.
Cleveland Browns Round 1 pick: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
It’s clear at this point that Odell Beckham, Jr. and the Browns aren’t a fit. It’s no one’s fault but OBJ just hasn’t looked like himself in years and while he’s been a consummate professional, he just hasn’t produced on the field for them.
This should lead to Cleveland looking for a new No. 1 wideout which is what they go for with their first selection in this draft. The player they target is Treylon Burks from Arkansas who is simply a massive target at 6-foot-3 and 225-pounds.
Looking at his size, it might not be apparent that he can still get deep on the defense. In three seasons with the Razorbacks, Burks is averaging 16.3 yards per reception and has really taken a huge step forward during the 2021 campaign.
His addition should give Baker Mayfield a player to grow alongside as the Browns land him a No. 1 target who could be a high producer for the next 10 years.
