Cleveland Browns Target No. 3 – Michael Gallup

After playing in the first game of the year, Michael Gallup has yet to play another snap because of a hamstring issue. While it’s tough to say just how long he will be out, there is speculation he is very close to a return.

Gallup has been a big part of the Cowboy’s offense in the past, but with Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb and this being a contract year, the Cowboys could certainly entertain an offer. Throw in the recent rise of Cedrick Wilson and Gallup seems like an obtainable player.

I’m not saying Gallup has the talent of an OBJ, but he has had a 1,000-yard season and has shown a lot of durability until this season. He’s also a guy the Browns could sign at the end of a season to a much more reasonable deal than a lot of other free agents.

Gallup would have the ability to play on the outside if needed but has had most of his success on the inside getting open over the middle of the field and can stretch the defense vertically.

With all the talent the Cowboys have at receiver and cap issues, they would have no interest in taking on a contract like OBJ’s, but they may understand a late-round pick for Gallup is better than nothing as there is likely no chance they can keep him in 2022.

The downside of this trade for the Browns is they would still need to try and find a third team to deal Beckham to.
