Cleveland Browns Hero No. 2: Myles Garrett

Is it really a debate this year? Myles Garrett is the best defensive player in football.

It started with his 4.5 sack rampage against Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears. Since that game, he has been responsible for at least one sack every week (With the exception of recording 0.5 sacks in week 4).

Myles Garrett has been given the “Aaron Donald treatment” at this point in his career. Double teamed and held, just about every single play. He doesn’t ever get the calls, but to make up for it, he gets the sacks.

He leads the entire league and has second place beat by two whole sacks. Not only that, he ranks first in tackles for loss, first in quarterback hits, and top three in quarterback pressures. There is no lack of efficiency in Garrett’s game this year. Whenever an opposing quarterback has to kick it out of the pocket, nine times out of 10 Garrett is the one chasing him from behind.

There is a reason Garrett is on a $125 million contract. He’s worth every penny and has proven that this season. The defense as a whole has been wildly inconsistent.

Luckily for the Browns, Garrett is allergic to inconsistency. He’s making a brilliant case for defensive player of the year right now. No player on the Browns defense, or possibly on the entire team has a bigger solo impact. His quarterback graveyard will only continue to grow.
