Cleveland Browns: 3 moves to make now that Odell Beckham saga is over
By Greg Newland
Move No. 2 – Start evaluating the draft board
The Cleveland Browns have already freed up $15 million by moving on from Beckham, and there is also a chance the team could move on from Rashard Higgins and even Jarvis Landry after 2021. That would leave Donovan Peoples-Jones and Anthony Schwartz as the two main targets who both have limited to no experience.
Will the team move on from Landry? Honestly, I lean towards not now that OBJ is out, but it just depends on how he responds. Landry and OBJ were great friends, and he will have to be a true professional to not have a grudge with the organization.
The good news, this draft class is great with guys like Chris Olave, Drake London, Garrett Wilson, Treylon Burks, David Pickens, and David Bell. Those are just the guys who have first-round grades and doesn’t even account for some guys you could get in rounds two and three that could be day one contributors.
The big question now, where will be where will the Browns be picking in 2022? At the beginning of the season, I was expecting nothing before pick No. 20, but now there is a real chance they could be in the top-15. While that means the season was a disaster, if they could land a guy like Garrett or Burks, the offense could be a lot of fun to watch next season.
