Cleveland Browns WR target No. 3: Allen Robinson

Allen Robinson is currently with the rebuilding Chicago Bears and isn’t having the best of seasons thus far. This is due to two things; Matt Nagy and rookie Justin Fields.

Now, that’s not entirely fair to Mr. Fields. He is going through a disastrous rookie campaign, but that is due in large part to his head coach, Mr. Nagy.

Regardless of how bad the play-calling has been, or how many times Fields has eaten the turf, it still hasn’t been ideal for Mr. Robinson.

The former Penn State Nittany Lion is in his eighth year in the NFL and has a serviceable career thus far. He was originally drafted in the second round of the 2014 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars and spent his first four seasons with them. In 2017, in the first game of the 2017 season, Robinson was lost for the season due to a torn ACL.

In March of 2018, Robinson signed a three-year, $42 million deal with the Bears. Since joining the Bears, he has had two of his three 1,000-yard campaigns, most recently catching 102 passes for 1,250 yards, and six touchdowns a year ago.

So far in 2021, Robinson has hauled in 26 passes for 271 yards and a lone touchdown. A change of scenery in 2022 would be good for Robinson and should he land in Cleveland, he will already be acclimated to the cold weather that the fall and winter bring on the shores of Lake Erie.
