Heading into this season, the Cleveland Browns had a ton of decisions to make in regards to personnel and who would and wouldn’t get an extension.

Wyatt Teller has proven to be one of then best guards in football and Browns general manager Andrew Berry agreed.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Teller and the Browns agreed on a four-year extension, tying him to Cleveland through 2025, thus avoiding free agency.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo was the first to report the extension.

The deal with worth $56.8 million, with $28 million I guaranteed money. This is excellent for both Teller and the Browns.

This news is huge for not only the team as a whole, but quarterback Baker Mayfield and running backs Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, and D’Ernest Johnson. The extension is even better for the running backs as Teller has been brilliant in the run-blocking game, posting PFF grades of 89.9 overall and 90.8 run blocking.

Teller was drafted as a fifth-round pick back in 2018 out of Virginia Tech by the Buffalo Bills. A year later, he was traded to Cleveland, along with a 2021 seventh-round pick, for a 2020 fifth and sixth-round picks.

In 2020, Teller was named a Second-Team All-Pro, along with fellow linemen teammates Jack Conklin (first-team) and Joel Bitonio (second-team).

If you like offensive linemen and pancakes, then Teller is the perfect player for you to watch. It would be a wise decision for Teller and his reps to consider opening up a pancake restaurant or at the very least, marketing merchandise centered around pancakes.

Check out this monstrous pancake from Teller this past Sunday against the Bengals to free up a 70-yard Chubb touchdown run.

Teller is a true leader on this team and the extension makes sense for everyone involved. Now that Teller has gotten paid, maybe tight end David Njoku will be next?

Time will tell on that last one, but for now, Cleveland fans should be celebrating by possibly having pancakes for breakfast today.
