Cleveland Browns player with no production No. 2: Grant Delpit

Not only has Grant Delpit had very little production in 2021, but he was also the one that was supposed to just completely break out of his shell. After a dynamite sophomore season in college, Delpit has been dealing with injuries ever since. In a year where he was finally healthy, the Browns were expecting big things.

Not only is he not producing numbers, but he’s also struggling to even get on the field at this point. He has only played more than half the defensive snaps in three of 10 games this season. And after a brilliant sack in his first game vs. the Houston Texans, his numbers have been limited all season. For the year he only has 27 tackles, one sack, and two pass deflections.

At one point I was frustrated with the coaching staff for not getting Delpit on the field, but after watching him closely the last few weeks, it just doesn’t appear he has adjusted to the speed of the game yet. He still looks slow on the field and appears to be thinking way too much.

Delpit was supposed to be the rover type guy this year making plays all over the field. Truthfully, I think the lack of success from Delpit has once again kept defensive coordinator Joe Woods from fully implementing his dime scheme defense.

Delpit still has time to improve, but this organization needs to see more in the last seven games of the season.
