Odell Beckham wanted out as soon as he got to Cleveland
Odell Beckham Jr’s eyes have been focused on Los Angeles and the Rams since he originally arrived in Cleveland. So Beckham Jr essentially wanted out of Cleveland this whole time?
According to Jay Glazer, former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr has had his eyes set on Los Angeles for a ‘long time.’
Glazer said on the Pat McAfee Show Wednesday that he remembers talking to OBJ right after he got traded to Cleveland. At that time, Beckham Jr told Glazer that he needed his help to get him get traded to the Rams.
Glazer said on the Pat McAfee Show that he told OBJ “it don’t work like that bro. You can’t do it like twice in four days.”
So, Beckham was never really 100 percent in on Cleveland which could be a reason why he was never able to clique and find success with this team.
Glazer also added that when Beckham originally asked for his release after he wasn’t traded at the deadline, the Browns were unwilling to release him.
Days later, Odell Beckham, Sr. reposted an 11 minute video of OBJ not getting the ball every time he was wide open.
Following this video, several professional athletes took to Twitter including LeBron James who used the hashtag “FreeOBJ” in an attempt to get Beckham Jr out of Cleveland.
According to Glazer, after the Browns saw this develop on social media, they realized that it was more of a distraction and they did not want it to become a bigger issue so they granted Odell Beckham Jr his release.
Nothing will match the city of Cleveland’s excitement when the Browns originally traded for Beckham and after hearing this, Browns fans should look at OBJ differently from now on, knowing that he never truly was committed or wanted to be in Cleveland in the first place.
