Cleveland Browns Replacement Option No. 2 – Aaron Rodgers

The guy who would make everyone forget about Mayfield quickly is Aaron Rodgers, but that scenario also presents challenges. After a scuffle this offseason, the Packers and Rodgers have already adjusted his contract to allow him to find a trade partner.

Could the Cleveland Browns be a potential option?

Yes, the Browns would have a ton of interest in Rodgers. He’s certainly known as being a difficult guy to get along with, but he’s a generational talent that you do what you need to do to get him.

However, the Packers may not have a ton of interest in Mayfield. Remember, they drafted Jordan Love last year and even though he didn’t shine in his first NFL start with Rodgers sidelined from COVID-19, they may still see a bigger upside than Mayfield.

Rodgers will be 38 on the second of December, so he also is likely a bridge quarterback. But it’s hard to call him a bridge player when he would make the team instant Super Bowl contenders.

The three-time all-pro quarterback has had a few great wide receivers but has never been a part of an offense with a line and running game like the Cleveland Browns have.

I admit, this one may be a bigger longshot, but Berry should certainly be on the phone to see if he is even close to a deal. A guy like Rodgers is someone you are willing to give up the farm for.
