The Cleveland Browns got some good news on Friday as head coach Kevin Stefanski said both Kareem Hunt and Jack Conklin will be activated for Sunday
Injuries have been the theme in 2021 for the Cleveland Browns. It seems as though one player after another has gone down with some sort of ailment and even players such as Baker Mayfield have been pushing through some serious injuries.
However, they finally got some positive news on Friday as two players who have been shelved for several weeks are set to return.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said that both running back Kareem Hunt and starting right tackle Jack Conklin will be activated in time for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Hunt missed the past five games with a strained calf and says he’s ready to “bring the fire” as he hopes to be on the field against Baltimore. In the six games he played this season, Hunt had 361 yards rushing with five touchdowns while averaging 5.2 yards per attempt. He added another 161 yards on 20 receptions, proving to be a great safety valve for Mayfield.
Pairing him with Nick Chubb gives the Browns the best running back duo in the game and while Chubb is coming off a 130-yard outing, the entire offense improved with Hunt’s ability to break the big play.
Also returning to the active roster is Jack Conklin, who dislocated his elbow against the Steelers. In his absence, Blake Hance has played well but having the offensive line at full strength against their divisional rival for this upcoming stretch will be huge for Cleveland.
The Browns face Baltimore on the road in Week 12 followed by a bye week. After their break, they will host the Ravens, making this the most critical stretch of the season for the 6-5 club.
