As a team, the Cleveland Browns are struggling but these five players are performing at their absolute best

Despite the Cleveland Browns having one of those seasons that we’d all wish to forget, there are some players on the team that are putting together career seasons.

No, Baker Mayfield nor Jarvis Landry can be included in this story because neither is having anything close to a career campaign. In fact, Landry is having one of the worst seasons of his career.

He’s missed four games this year, but in the eight games he’s playing in, he has just 356 yards receiving and zero touchdown receptions (although he did run one in). To boot, he’s getting paid a pretty penny. Mayfield’s totals are also down this season. He’s thrown for 2,413 yards with only 11 touchdowns. He had 26 touchdown throws a year ago, so he has some work to do if wants to reach those levels.

There are several players though that are on pace for great statistical campaigns and are part of the reason this team is still at least 6-6 on the season — and still have a very small chance at the playoffs. Let’s find out who those players are.

No. 5: Cleveland Browns EDGE Myles Garrett

What hasn’t been said about Myles Garrett? He is the Browns best defensive player and opposing offenses have to plan their game plan around double and triple-teaming Garrett so he can’t sack their quarterback five times in a game.

Oh wait, Garrett almost did that in a game earlier this season. He recorded 4.5 sacks in the early season win against the Chicago Bears. He leads the NFL in sacks with 14 and that is already a career-best. He also has recorded 28 quarterback hits which will easily put him ahead of the 29 he had in 2018 by the time the season is over.

He’s combined for 42 tackles this season and that will soon overtake his best of 48 tackles from last year. As for the sacks he’s recorded, the NFL record for the official leaders starting back in 1982, is former great New York Giants Michael Strahan with 22.5. Can Garrett catch that title?

If he were to average, let’s say two sacks the rest of the way, that would give him 24 and he’d break the record easily.
