Cleveland Browns Question No. 3 – Who is going to get open at wide receiver?

It appears now that Marlon Humphrey will miss the remainder of the season, meaning the Ravens are down their best cornerback. That may make things a little easier for the Cleveland Browns wide receivers, but someone must get open.

Jarvis Landry had his best game two weeks ago vs. the Ravens, but it was all with great play action. When Mayfield was forced to line up in shotgun or the Ravens knew a pass play was coming, there was very little success.

Not only did Mayfield have a ton of pressure, but guys also dropped a few balls that you would have liked to see caught. It’s unclear if Anthony Schwarts will be available and Rashard Higgins was a healthy scratch the last game, but someone must get open.

Donovan Peoples-Jones dropped a ball early in the previous matchup (it would have been a very difficult catch) and was never able to recover from there. He is the one guy that has the speed and size to get open in man coverage, and the Browns really need him to shine this week.

Look for Kevin Stefanski to work to get Peoples-Jones involved in the game plan early with a few easy catches. Running the football is extremely important for the Browns, but they can’t win games if they have zero success throwing the football.
