The Cleveland Browns have had their struggles throughout 2021, but these four players have continued to prove they are worthy of long-term opportunities.

One thing is for certain, things have not gone exactly how the Cleveland Browns anticipated the 2021 season to go. After an 11-win season in 2020, a playoff win, and an extra game in 2021, many expected the Browns to win at least 11 games.

Andrew Berry was busy off-season working on a complete rebuild of the defense, and at times they have looked elite. However, at other times they have struggled to stop a wet paper bag.

There have certainly been plenty of disappointments, but there have also been a lot of guys who have proven their worth and are deserving of an extension.

Remember, all are worthy, but it remains to be seen if the organization will have enough cap space to get them all done. Here are four players who have proven their worth in 2021.

4. Cleveland Browns S Troy Hill

The Las Angeles Rams had the best defense in the NFL in 2020, and the Cleveland Browns were able to steal two players from their starting secondary, John Johnson and Troy Hill. Johnson has been good, but Hill has been fantastic as the nickel corner.

With the way the NFL has moved, it’s not enough to have great cornerbacks anymore, you also have to have a nickel guy who has the ability to shut off routes in both directions.

Hill has continued to play sticky coverage all year and has two sacks on the year as he continues to show he can blitz like a rocket.

The Browns have Hill under contract through 2022 but would be a great extension if they can get him in anywhere close to his current deal.
