3 Cleveland Browns with stocks rising as they prepare for Green Bay

Cleveland Browns player No. 1 with rising stock: Dustin Colquitt
The Browns’ new punter, Dustin Colquitt, has emerged as the front runner to keep the job permanently barring any unexpected happenings. The Browns had Jamie Gillam punting this season and last, but his time in Cleveland may be limited.
Colquitt has now played in two games for the Browns and because the Browns offense has played so poorly in those two games, he’s had a lot of opportunities to punt. He’s racked up 12 punts in only two games. He had seven kicks in the game against the Raiders.
He landed one of his punts inside the Raiders four-yard line and for most of his punts, he made the Raiders work the whole field to try and get in scoring position. His 42-yard average isn’t spectacular, but he’s also landed four of his punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
Colquitt, who was originally the long-time punter and kicker with the Kansas City Chiefs has been in the league a long time. He’s 39 years old but looks like he could kick for many more years. Is he the Browns’ next long-term answer?
Time will tell, but for the rest of this season, he’s certainly been a valuable asset to the team. Let’s though hope he’s not punting the ball so many times in the coming weeks.
