The Cleveland Browns have a lot riding on the Christmas Day matchup with Green Bay. They need these key players to step up for a much-needed win.

The Cleveland Browns are preparing to battle the Green Bay Packers in a Christmas Day matinee. The Browns haven’t ever played on Christmas Day and to have to battle the best team in the NFC will be a tall task.

Like the Christmas movie “Miracle on 34th Street,” Cleveland is going to need a “Miracle at Lambeau Field” to try and stay in a close playoff and divisional race. The team lost a heartbreaker on Monday to the Las Vegas Raiders 16-14. Not only did Cleveland battle the Raiders but they also were battling Covid as its ravaged the team this past week.

Fortunately, the team is getting many players back including Austin Hooper, Jarvis Landry, and their starting quarterback Baker Mayfield. What this does for the team and if it helps is up for much debate, but at least they will hopefully finish the season off with a fight as they hold out hope for a playoff appearance this season.

The Browns have had several opportunities this year to come through with victories in the late stages of the game. Let’s not forget Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs or the Los Angeles Chargers game a few weeks later where the Browns had late leads in the game and squandered their chances and lost in the end.

More recently, Cleveland was driving on the Pittsburgh Steelers late in the game and faltered late with mistakes. Then there was this past Monday’s game where the Browns decided to go into a prevent defense after their offense failed to convert a crucial third down and allowed the Raiders to score a winning field goal on the last play of the game for the victory.

On Christmas Day, the Browns are going to need many things to go their way including having several key members of the team step up and play big. These players have all made impacts on this squad in the past and they need to play as though this is the last game they’ll ever play.
