Cleveland’s inconsistent offense is in desperate need of a true No. 1 receiver and Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson is the perfect fit in this Browns mock draft

Heading into Christmas, the Cleveland Browns offense has been the definition of inconsistent and some of the blame seems to be on the wide receiver’s inability to beat man coverage and get open for quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Some of the blame still needs to be on Mayfield but a true No. 1 wideout should be able to help him, as well as the offense as a whole.

This 2022 seven-round mock draft helps solve the Browns receiver issues as well as their gaps on the defensive side of the ball.

Cleveland Browns Mock Draft Round 1: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

With the Browns first-round selection, they will get one of the top wide receivers in the class and an elite playmaker in Garrett Wilson, allowing him to stay in the great state of Ohio. Mayfield and Wilson should have an automatic connection as both attended Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas.

Back in 2019, Cleveland thought they were getting their wide receiver one of the future in Odell Beckham, Jr. however, it obviously never really worked out in Cleveland.

Wilson is a dynamic playmaker and is always dangerous with the ball in his hands. He stands at 6 feet tall and weighs 188 pounds. Wilson is the perfect size to run around the defender or go up and over the defender with his incredible hops. Last season for the Buckeyes, Wilson tallied 70 receptions for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns.

With Wilson, Jarvis Landry, and Donovan Peoples-Jones, the Browns receiving room will be much improved and would seemingly leave no excuses for Mayfield to play poorly.
