Cleveland Browns Dud: Baker Mayfield, QB

After missing last week due to being on the COVID list, Baker Mayfield made his return on Christmas Day — and he looked like a player who hadn’t practiced in two weeks. Mayfield was high on a lot of his throws and had three interceptions in the first half.

He nearly had a fourth in the second half when another errant pass was dropped by a Green Bay defender, but eventually did throw No. 4 while trying to get down the field to win the game. There was a blatant pass interference that ruined the play but even had Mayfield led them to a win, it would have been making up for how poorly he played early on in this one.

Cleveland Browns Stud: Nick Chubb

The Browns have one of the best running backs in the NFL in Nick Chubb and he was on top of his game this week. No. 24 got the ball 17 times on the ground and went for 126 yards and a touchdown. He also pulled in three passes for 58 yards through the air.

It’s still confusing that they would go away from him when he was playing so well, but Chubb can’t force the ball into his own hands. All he can do is make the most of every chance he gets — and he continues to do just that.

Cleveland Browns Stud: Rashard Higgins, WR

It’s been a while since Rashard Higgins has been playing the way we saw in 2020 but he turned back the clock on Christmas Day. Higgins had six passes thrown his way and he hauled in five of them for 58-yards including a couple of big third-down conversions.

One of those was on third-and-15 when he caught a 16-yard pass. Unfortunately, the following play was a pick as Baker Mayfield missed Jarvis Landry but that doesn’t take away from the great play Landry made to keep the drive alive before that.
