The Cleveland Browns aren’t finished for 2021, but it’s time to start looking at free agents who could push this team over the hump in 2022.

I know the season isn’t yet over for the Cleveland Browns, but even if they find a way to squeak into the playoffs, I don’t think anyone has confidence that they can legitimately compete.

After an 11-win season in 2020, a road playoff victory in Pittsburgh, and taking the Kansas City Chiefs down to the wire in the divisional round, anything short of the AFC Championship game was bound to be a disappointment.

I know those are extremely high metrics, but after what this team did last year and with the additions on defense, people around the league were talking about the Cleveland Browns all offseason.

Six games this year the Browns have had a chance at the end and just haven’t been able to close the door. The Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders games were all leads where a few first downs would have closed the door. The Ravens, Steelers, and Packers games are situations where the Browns had the ball at the end of the game and just failed to score.

I get it, you can’t win them all and no team is 100 percent on closing games, but if you just find a way to beat the Steelers and Raiders this team is in the driver seat to win the AFC North, and at a worst-case is looking at a wild card spot.

Quarterback play has been poor at times because of several injuries to Baker Mayfield. Playcalling and time management have been questionable at times. Not to mention, the defense that has been great, has had tendencies of struggling to get off the field.

This all equates to Andrew Berry taking a deep dive into the Browns roster in the 2022 offseason and looking to add some potential free agents. These three guys would be perfect fits.
