Oklahoma’s Perrion Winfrey (8) has made an impression with his choice of thigh pads, including here against Nebraska earlier this season. /

Round 2: Perrion Winfrey, DT, Oklahoma

One of the biggest disappointments this season has been the Cleveland Browns defensive tackles. After letting both starters walk from 2020, there was some concern, but many expected young guys like Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai to step up.

With Malik McDowell and Malik Jackson likely moving on after the season, the Browns will also likely add a free agent and draft at this position. Perrion Winfrey, the defensive tackle from Oklahoma would be the perfect fit for the Browns in round two.

Winfrey is a big, athletic guy who can move side to side to stop the run, and at 297 pounds he also has the power to collapse the pocket and put pressure on the quarterback.  Winfrey is a guy who could become a day one starter if he performed well in camp.

Round 3: Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State

I mentioned before that the Browns will likely be moving on from J.C. Tretter, but there is also a good chance that Chris Hubbard could be on the move, and there is some concern if Jack Conklin can return to form after a serious injury.

With all the changes, I could see the Browns drafting a tackle, and in this mock, it happened a little earlier than expected with Nicholas Petit-Frere slipping into round two.  Berry has seemed to be fortunate with second-round picks the last few years, and I see this being no different.

At 6-foot-5 inches and 315 pounds, Petit-Frere is one of those freak athletes that moves so well for his size. If he gets drafted and really works to get in great shape, he has the potential of being a perennial all-pro tackle.
