4 Cleveland Browns who could be playing in their final game with franchise

3. Cleveland Browns WR, Rashard Higgins
In the last 20 seasons, not many folks have lasted with the Cleveland Browns more than four seasons, let alone six which is what Rashard Higgins has accomplished. He was limited as a rookie but had 50 plus targets in years two and three.
And then once Mayfield took over in 2018 (year three for Higgins), they seemed to have fantastic chemistry. Higgins was never going to be an elite NFL wide receiver, but he just found a way to get open, especially on third down.
Then came the Freddie Kitchens era in 2019, and it just hasn’t been the same since. Multiple times Higgins was a healthy scratch and he only had four receptions in 2019.
Year one with Kevin Stefanski and year five with the Browns was better for Higgins, he had statistically his best year with 599 receiving yards, but he still wasn’t making the plays the team needed. Higgins is a zone scheme wide receiver who just finds the open spot. He struggles to get separation in man-to-man coverage.
2021 has been another huge disappointment as he only has 275 receiving yards with one week to go in the season. Mayfield was able to get Higgins two one-year deals the last two seasons, but I see that well running dry for 2022.
Someone will pick up Higgins and give him a shot, but I’m not sure how successful he will be anywhere he goes.
